Fall-Winter 2011-2012 Update
New Sweden Colonial Farmstead features...
Seven authentically constructed Scandinavian-American log cabins in beautiful surroundings on approximately 2 acres of Bridgeton’s 1000-acre City Park. When reopened, these cabins will contain the authentic historic tools and objects that tell the story of farming life in the original colonial settlements of the region.
Yessss! Curator Completes Farmstead’s Objects Inventory....
Thanks to the support (and patience) of our donors and the skills of our guest collections specialist Carrie Hogan and curatorial intern Lloyd Frisone, the inventory of original Farmstead objects is now complete! The collection, stored in the Farmstead for two decades under relatively unprotected conditions, had become a source of concern. The specialists’ findings are now under review by the Board.
More pictures of the collection in storage, identified, sorted and tagged.
